Lawrence L. Yerkie, 77, of Vernon passed away November 21, 2015 at the Lutheran Home. Larry was born May 5th, 1938 in Utica, NY a son of the late Clarence and Doris (Budlong) Yerkie. He was married to Judith Featherbay on October 27, 1956, a blessed union of over 57 years until her passing on May 15th, 2014. He was a graduate of Westmoreland Central School. Larry delivered for UPS then went into business with his Father, purchasing a mobile home park in Vernon, NY. Later the business expanded to mobile home sales and service. He was a Master Mason, a member of the Utica Ziyara Shriners, Stanwix Veterans & Mens Club, and life member of the Oneida Moose Club. Larry loved to tell jokes and socialize on a daily basis. He is survived by his son, Lawrence Jr.; sister and brother-in-laws, Joanna and Richard Dowsland, Donna and Leonard Durham, Mary and John Thrasher, Mrs. James (Patty) Featherbay; grandchildren, Heather and Jon Lessels, Josh and Julie Yerkie, Kristen Yerkie and Trisha Burns, and their mother Dawn (Burton) Yerkie; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by in-laws, Arthur and Winifred (Mabbett) Featherbay; brother-in-laws, James and Lee Featherbay and sister-in-law, Mrs. Lee "Wendy" Featherbay. Private services will be held for the family. Arrangements by Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc, 35 College St., Clinton. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011 and Shriner's Hospital for Children, 2900 N. Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
