Elaine S. Malecki passed away at home, in Applewood, on August 24, 2014. She was born November 18, 1944 to Virgil L. and Phyllis H. Smith. She was married to William Phillips, Bernard Marchefka, and Bernard Malecki. Her early years were spent in Lairdsville. In 1952 the family moved to Jackson Hill in Boonville, NY. Elaine graduated from Boonville Central School and Marcy School of Nursing. She was an R.N. for many years at Utica State Hospital. Elaine was an avid reader, loved the ocean and traveling. She was a fan of S.U. football and basketball, drum corps, animals and the casino. Left behind are her significant other William Davies, brother Lawrence Smith and a sister Lorna J. Cooke, niece Michelle R. Manley, nephew Matt (Amy) Manley, grandsons Nicholas and William Phillips and her special canine companions Cinnamon and Precious. Elaine was predeceased by her parents and a beloved son William I. Phillips and other close family members. There will be a memorial luncheon at 12pm on Saturday August 30, 2014 at Applewood Community Center, Route 5 in Clinton to celebrate Elaine's life.
